Debuting in March, 2006, the David Beckham Academy is the premier youth soccer
academy in the United States, developed and designed by legendary soccer player
and international icon David Beckham. The academy is modeled after Beckham's
experiences at Bobby Charlton's soccer school in London, providing kids
with the opportunity to play and train like a professional at the nation's
soccer cathedral, The Home Depot Center.
The academy features coaches hand-picked by Beckham to work with ages eight
to 15 in three- and five-day soccer camps. Beckham's legendary Manchester
United FC Youth Coach Eric Harrison developed the soccer curriculum, which
includes both individual and team training, speed and agility assessments, healthy
living education and important life lessons that put the focus on having fun
on the field.
Kids train on state-of-the-art fields and facilities, locker rooms and media
room at The Home Depot Center. Internationally recognized Athletes' Performance
(AP) provides kids with elite, World Cup-caliber fitness and performance testing
and training as a benefit of being in the David Beckham Academy.
More information and registration for all David Beckham Academy programs is available
online. In
addition to the three- and five-day camps, the academy also offers a two-hour
Specialized
Performance Program designed to challenge individuals technically
and improve speed, agility and strength. The academy also offers a special
Coaches
Education Program for soccer coaches at all levels, from grassroots
to club coaches.
