LA84 Foundation CONNIE CYCLING Program

World champion cyclist Connie Paraskevin has developed a student cycling program to introduce kids ages 9-14 to the exciting world of track cycling and racing and provide unique opportunities to learn cycling skills on a world-class track with professional instruction.

"My goal is to provide a program that enhances a child's health and physical abilities and encourages them to strive for their own personal best. Not only do they learn new cycling skills but participants will also learn about things like fair play, perseverance, and camaraderie."

Program Points

• Cycling instruction by a cycling professional on a world-class track
• Classes are for students 8 -15 years of age
• Bikes and helmets are provided for use during class
• Classes are free

• Students are expected to attend all classes in a session

Beginner Class
This class is the first step for riding at the velodrome. The emphasis is on having fun and learning the basic skills for getting on track. The desire to bike race is not necessary – only the desire to experience riding at the Velodrome. This class is a prerequisite to CC Sport and Advanced programs.

Sport Group
This is the step after graduating from the Beginner program. Focus is on continued learning of track skills and we begin to introduce race techniques. Participants are grouped according to ability and advance at their own pace.

Advanced Practice
This class is for those who currently race or are interested in racing. Focus is on continued learning of track skills and racing skills. Students must be CC Beginner Class graduate and able to ride multiple laps on the track.
